Congolese President Tshisekedi visits France and Germany

President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RD Congo), who is visiting Europe, has arrived in Paris, the French capital, today (April 29, 2024) Monday. The day before (Sunday, April 28), the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin and shared a working dinner together. RFI's Africa correspondent in Kinshasa sent back news on Monday that the current finance minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo was unable to leave the country over the weekend because he was suspected of being involved in a major corruption case. He had planned to visit Europe with the country's president.

According to the schedule, President Félix Tshisekedi of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (RD Congo) will pay an official visit to France for two days: Monday, April 29th and Tuesday, April 30th. During this period, French President Macron has a meeting with him at the Elysée Palace (l’Élysée). In addition, the activities of the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo's trip to Paris are very tight. He plans to visit the French National Assembly and the French Senate, attend a ceremony at Les Invalides, and attend a business forum for Central African entrepreneurs organized by the French Employers Association (MEDEF). He will also meet with members of the Congolese community in France.
